Beare's launches new independent charity

Announcing the J & A Beare Cultural Trust

From international soloists to passionate amateurs, from students to professionals – the ethos driving the work of J & A Beare has always been to safeguard the future of classical music.

Countless musicians have found their dream instrument here over the past 130 years, while over 250 have received loans through the Beare’s Society. But with the expansion of Beare’s non-commercial work, it became clear that to take next step in truly supporting the next generation, it would be necessary to create a completely independent charitable entity.

To enable this vision, Beare’s has announced the creation of the J & A Beare Cultural Trust, registered charity 1209351.

The mission of the Cultural Trust is to support artists from all backgrounds in building a career in classical music. The Trust focuses on talented young musicians who can benefit from support at the outset of their career journey.

The core work of the Beare’s Cultural Trust includes:

  • Specialist chamber music coaching
  • Provision of scholarships
  • Public and private concerts
  • Masterclasses from world-leading artists
  • Help with recording production
  • Instrument support for competitions

Central to the public experience of the Trust will be regular performances and showcases.

For the Trust’s cohort of young musicians, each term will culminate in public concerts, while the centrepiece of the Trust’s overall work will be the Beare’s Chamber Music Festival, held every two years.

The Beare’s Chamber Music Festival bring international classical music stars to London stages for performances of chamber music masterpieces in remarkable artistic combinations. During this time, the young musicians of the Trust will benefit from masterclasses and close contact with global artists.

Full details of the mission and events of the J & A Beare Cultural Trust can be found on its website.
