Rising star soloist Christian Li has been granted the long-term use of a fine Stradivari violin, the 1699 “Crespi”. The instrument is part of the collection of Dr David Li AM, who has generously chosen to loan the violin to Christian through the Beare’s Society.
Christian’s profile has been growing rapidly on the international stage since becoming the youngest-ever artist signed to Decca Classics in 2020, with the recording contract following his win at the Menuhin Competition in 2018. The young Australian violinist won significant acclaim for his debut album, winning praise for his ‘thrilling virtuosity and myriad colours’ (BBC Music Magazine).
Christian is currently the Young Artist in Association with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, a title he has held since 2021.
